Dmitry Erokhin: What happened before your project today? Rodion Shishkov: I have been doing business since the age of 19. And during this time he managed to launch more than 5 startups. The only exception to the experience of starting startups was my work in the Russian Post, where I was already engaged in the creation of digital products as a hired manager.

Dmitry Erokhin: Which professional experience is most useful in life and in the “scooter”? Rodion Shishkov: I often changed the direction of activity - this is the most useful to me in my life. I have a rather short entrepreneurial cycle-every year I began to do something new. I have a habit of quickly building a process in a new context, and in the “self -scatter” this is necessary every day.

During this time, we have changed technological stack three times, usually organizations are preparing for this years. Approximately every 1 month, we have changes at the level of product architecture, some product is added, some is divided into two, and so on. And these are big changes. At the same time, we have a very stable team in the sense of top management. It is significant, for example, that we have one hundred.

Experience helps me to work in such a density of events - I had many projects. Moreover, they were all from different areas: real estate, telecom, clothing retail, organization of events, server development and so on. Thanks to the “scooter”, a physiological habit appeared to quickly respond to changes. The market is changing - it is not news for you: you yourself have the habit of changing.

The technology is changing - this is not a problem for you, because you have a habit of coming to a new market, a new situation, and quickly understand. Dmitry Erokhin: How did you come to the idea of ​​the "scooter"? By chance or luck? Rodion Shishkov: Together with Vyacheslav Bocharov are the founders of the service. Glory is responsible for the strategic development and operational management of the company.

I am supervised by the product team and are responsible for the technological part of the project. In the year we made the Smart platform. Space for real estate management. Residents through a mobile application could pay bills and vote for the color of tulips in front of the house. In the service, we created the “Shop” function to order the necessary goods for example, there you could order ending matches, salt or sugar.

By the beginning of the year, it became clear that the “shop” was popular. We decided to make a separate service: so in the year in the city of St. Petersburg appeared a “scooter”. Was it luck or a case? Vyacheslav and I believe that this is the result of a consistent, systemic search, quick self -learning and, of course, good luck. Any success is luck, but it does not come to those who sit still.

All important decisions in the company are made by the board of directors with our direct participation. All of them are our partners. That is, we have majority shareholders, but without us they cannot make a decision. Both of them belong to the Cyprus company Robotil LTD. Dmitry Erokhin: How and what did the coronavirus and the restrictions related to him affect the “scooter” in particular and in general for the industry?

Can you details? Rodion Shishkov: It may seem that the pandemic has positively influenced business delivery. And partly so. We really grew up. But, as for others, coronavirus has become a serious test and stress for our business. We had to accelerate growth rates and changes ten times, quickly upgrade and strengthen the service system in the conditions of peak loads.

Literally in the last weeks of March, we experienced a multiple growth, completing this month at the mark of more delivered orders. Already in April, the couriers of the "Samokat" delivered 1 orders. We did not have the opportunity to transfer or cancel orders, as some other services did. We were forced to quickly rebuild and transfer many processes online. For example, we completely digitized the process of selecting, hiring and withdrawing new employees to work.

Imagine that at the beginning of the year there were a total of only employees in the scooter. In one week of March, we hired the same thousand couriers. But we not only threw individual processes online. It is precisely the technological solutions that allow you to instantly respond to any problem at each of the stages of the service chain that allowed the growth. So, for example, we almost completely delegated the system for monitoring the withdrawal of additional couriers in each of our darcsters.

The system predicts the growth of orders in the coming hours and reacts. Our couriers, who did not plan to work today, receive an invitation to get out.And after half an hour we have more employees to deliver orders. Well, of course, this is the time when we pay special attention to safety. So, the scooter was one of the first in March to introduce contactless orders for our users.

We provided all couriers with the necessary personal protective equipment. And this was not some additional option at the request of the client, but the strict security rule for all our users. Throughout this time, we conduct continuous monitoring of the health status of our couriers, supervisors and administrators of the Darcstores. At first, we controlled employees manually: couriers reported their well -being in work chats, and when reaching work, all warehous personnel measured body temperature.

Since April, we have completed these measures by the obligatory testing of employees of our warehouses in Moscow and St. Petersburg in Covid and now we are testing in all 4 cities. We independently found a contractor for such a study. The biomaterial fence is carried out by a medical worker and is carried out using mobile and travel brigades. And our employees online receive the test results.

And this whole procedure is repeated every 10 days. Dmitry Erokhin: In Russia, what are your main competitors in delivery? What are you learning from them? Rodion Shishkov: “Online” is so small that competitive zones have not yet formed inside him, where we could interfere with each other. Services do not compete with each other. Rather, all together we are fighting with the traditional retail.

In principle, the service that we offer is the development of the retail service, what we know it. And development is necessary when the need evolves. A person always strives to make him more comfortable, simpler, cheaper, more, better. Classic online trade could not offer this improvement. She solved some issues, but at the same time put new ones. Of course, it is more convenient to order in the conditional "ozone" than to go to the store.

But you have to wait, and then organize a meeting with the courier. We were able to create a new quality of the service without having to sacrifice something for it. The previous attempt to make Grosseri -Service more convenient due to the online was unsuccessful. And our model, which gave advantages, but did not force them to pay, began to develop very quickly. That is why our competitors are offline.

We take all the revenue from them, and not from other online players. Dmitry Erokhin: In the world, other countries, cities, what other delivery services are you observing? Where are the best and most developed delivery? Rodion Shishkov: Today it is already such an obvious model that some new player appears in it every week somewhere in the world. When we started, there was nothing like this.

A comparative analysis of these services is still impossible to conduct, since all of them are young besides, perhaps, Getir in Turkey, which is older and the American peer Gopuff.
