Larichev e biography
In addition, he constantly paid attention to the translation and publication of sources on the medieval history of peoples that created their states in China Kitans, Jurchen, Mongols, Manchu, which has also become one of the important characteristics of this school. After graduating in the city after moving to Novosibirsk, along with his mentor A. Okladnikov, he continued to actively engage in field archeology, without stopping the study of materials on the ancient history of China, Mongolia, as well as Japan and Korea.
His scientific career was quite successful. In the city of Larichev, he was elected academician of the RAEN. The field of scientific interests of Vitaly Epifanovich was extremely wide and covered the problems of the archeology of Siberia, the Far East, China, Mongolia, Korea and Japan; The stories and ethnography of the peoples of China and Korea, Mongol- and Tungus-speaking peoples.
He paid a lot of attention to the origin of art and his semantics, actually becoming the founder of the new scientific discipline for Russia - astroarcheology. He also made a huge contribution to the popularization of the science of antiquities. Larichev was not only an excellent specialist, but also a good organizer with the qualities of a born leader. You can be sure that sooner or later he would have formed a group of his followers on the basis of the academic institute in which he worked.
But the formation of a scientific school is a long process, depending on many factors, usually stretching for several decades. And here, as they say, there would be no happiness, but misfortune helped. The Soviet Union threatened a huge misfortune - a war with China. Recently, heavy battles in the area of Fr. Daman, and the situation remained very tense. Kosygin, who visited Akademgorodok on June 30 on a working visit, did not stop thinking about the upcoming difficult negotiations with the Chinese authorities.
In an interview with the leadership of the Novosibirsk Region and the Siberian branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences, he “reproached domestic and Siberian scientists that we very poorly know the history of the formation of the border with China, we are not enough studying sources, including in Chinese, related to this problem.” This was subsequently announced to his colleagues at the meeting Academician A.
possessing great administrative experience, he managed to turn the head of the government at his assignment, which immediately advanced ahead. Already in the city of Larichev, and in the same year at NSU, the study of philologists of oriental languages as foreigners began at NSU. Graduates of this particular group were to be part of the sector of the history and archeology of the countries of the foreign East: three - for the translation of the Jurchen dynasty chronicle “Jin Shi” why they were trained in the Eastern Faculty of LSU, and five to study the archeology of China and Japan.
And although the transfer of the annals for a number of reasons did not take place, the research on medieval history and the publication of the sources continued. Laricheva defended the dissertation dedicated to the state of Western Kitsa, Pikov, now twice a doctor of sciences, who became the main assistant to the teacher in a large -scale “Qing project”. In the field of Chinese archeology, she was the first to protect in Kashin, who also became one of the leading teachers for the "eastern" group of the Humanitarian Faculty.
Of the graduates of this group, the backbone of the Larichev School was composed. Evsyukov about the semantics of the painted ceramics of the Chinese Neolithic, in the city of Komissarov in arms of the ancient China of the Zhou era, and in the city of Varenov in the arms of the Shang; Literally years, S. Kozhanov, who was called to serve in the Soviet Army, was not enough to complete the dissertation about the Han dynasty set of weapons.
Alkin, who defended the dissertation essay on the Neolithic of Southern Manchuria, in the city of Zhelov, whose dissertation was dedicated to the Paleolithic of North-East China, and in the city of Gilev with a dissertation about the funeral rite of Kogorets. Most of the students actively joined the work of the sector of the foreign East, helped V. Larichev to establish the work of the Oriental Studies Commission under the Presidium with the USSR Academy of Sciences, under the auspices of which, in particular, a series of books “History and Culture of the East of Asia” and the holding of Roerich readings - the first regular conference on eastern problems in Siberia was carried out.
The number and quality of the published work allowed the famous orientalist L. Vasiliev, a very strict criticism, to conclude that a special scientific school of archaeological oriental studies was created in Novosibirsk.
The activities of the well -coordinated team of researchers under the guidance of the teacher successfully continued, and already in the city of his constant tireless activity, in many respects contributed to the fact that Siberian archeology turned to the antiquities of the East. And these attitudes acquired a stable nature and continue to act and, after the death of V., loyalty to the principles of “archaeological oriental studies” was proclaimed at one of the next congresses of Russian orientalists.
In total, in the series “History and Culture of the East of Asia”, an indispensable scientific editor of which was V.Larichev, more than 30 volumes on archeology and medieval history of China and neighboring territories came out. At the same time, under his leadership, a series of sources translated from the Manchu language was published: options for Chinese dynasty stories “Jin Shi”, “Liao Shi” and “Yuan Shi” “Daylyo Guruni Suduri”, “Aisin Guruni Suduri” and “Dajuan Guruni Suduri” and one volume of collections of the history and culture of the manchules "Man-Ven Lao Dan." Larichev and almost all his students took the most active participation of the history of China from ancient times to the beginning of the 21st century.
The most important characteristic of the Larichev School is that most of its members became teachers of NSU and participated in the development of oriental education. Unfortunately, Vitaly Epifanovich himself did not come to the university, despite the fact that he was a magnificent lecturer. And listening to his inspired story about the events of the past somewhere in excavations in Khakassia, we simply dreamed of transferring his performances to the University of the audience, where he would undoubtedly become one of the most popular and beloved professors.
But it did not happen. The reason, I think, is that Vitaly Epifanovich conducted a huge research and scientific and organizational work and believed that he could simply not physically give teaching the necessary forces and time. And he did not know how to do something half-hearted. And then V. Larichev put forward the idea of creating the Department of Oriental Studies at NSU and expressed his readiness to lead it at first.
But this initiative did not receive support from the leadership of the university, as a result, several years were lost, very important from the standpoint of a timely response to the challenges of the era. Nevertheless, in the city of the city of entrance, which also began its professional activity under the leadership of V. for almost a quarter century of the existence of the department, they were prepared near specialists and bachelors in the profile of oriental studies, many of them continued to study in the magistracy and graduate school both in Russia and abroad.
During scientific hull farming by V. Larichev’s students, candidate dissertations defended in Girchenko about the problems of the Neolithic and the Bronze Age of the Sichuan basin, in the city of Kudinov about the role of a dog in China, the Neolithic and Paleometall, in Schulga about the archaeological cultures of Northern China in the early Iron Age. All of them are in one way or another by the current teachers and are actively participating in the training of oriental personnel for domestic and world science.
