Cold biography

Faith is cold "life of wonderful people." Faith of the cold faith is cold - the only Russian actress of silent cinema, whose name is known all over the world. She starred only four years, but she is still called the first Soviet movie star and the cult figure of the Silver Age. Vera Levchenko was born on August 5 in Poltava, and soon the family moved to Moscow.

She was considered quiet, obedient, dreamy and as if not from this world. For about a year, Vera was engaged in the ballet school of the Bolshoi Theater, she was prophesied by the career of Prima, but her grandmother said that a respectable girl should not engage in frivolous and immoral work. The ballet was replaced by a new hobby - theater. She played in all gymnasium productions.

Once, having fallen into a performance with the participation of the glorified Vera Komissarzhevskaya, Verochka fell ill - she had a temperature. The doctor advised his mother to protect an impressive young lady from spiritual upheavals and find her a suitable husband - calm and reasonable, who would cure her from dreaminess and melancholy. I did not have to look for a long time.

At the graduation ball in a gymnasium with a charming Verochka Levchenko, a young beautiful lawyer Vladimir Kholodny danced all evening and read Gumilyov’s poems to her. At 17, she became his wife. When the First World War began, the husband went to the front. Vera was left alone with two daughters. Her first role in the cinema was the nanny-ite in the film "Anna Karenina".

The director did not consider the game talented, but nevertheless recommended the actress Evgeny Bauer, who immediately saw the future celebrity in a modest young woman and approved her to the main role in the drama "Song of triumphant love." Immediately after the release of the film, Vera cold became a star. But in the midst of the triumph, the news came that the husband was seriously wounded near Warsaw.

Vera went to the hospital and spent a whole month at her husband’s bed, and as soon as his condition improved, she hurried to Moscow. The shooting was practically without a break. Films with the participation of the actress brought fantastic profits. In order to look at her, people lined up in colossal queues. Such a young cinema in Russia did not know yet. In Kharkov, for example, during the crowds in the Ampir cinema, all windows were broken, the doors were torn from the hinges.

In order to calm the crowd that stormed the hall, a detachment of equestrian dragoons was called. A similar excitement was happening throughout the country. In m, after the release of the film "Life for Life", the actress dubbed the "queen of the screen." But Vera refused the director, like the rest of the "applicants." She adored Platonic novels and never cheated on her husband.

The most famous novel of Vera Cold happened to Alexander Vertinsky, then still a novice poet. They often performed together. Many did not understand what a sophisticated beauty found in this thin, nondescript person. But not in vain they say that the dance is more eloquent than any words. Their crown number is tango. There were so many unspoken and unrealized in it.

Vertinsky devoted songs to her, one of the latter was amazingly prophetic. Vera did not notice the changes that occurred in the year. She had no time. In the summer, to finish filming films, she left south. Odessa was then occupied by the Entente army, the authorities changed by the day, but by the hour. Filming, concerts, and suddenly on February 17, incomprehensible news: Faith of the cold died at the age of 26.

Emergency rumors instantly crawled around the country. In fact, she fell ill with a "Spanish", from which there was no medicine. By a strange coincidence, the year of the death of Vera Cold was officially recognized as the year of the birth of Soviet cinema. And much later, she became the prototype of the heroine of the film by Nikita Mikhalkov's “Slave of Love”.
